The effect electricity lines have on property value can be marked.
Everyone knows that electrical lines and pylons in particular, are unsightly and can in certain weather conditions be extremely noisy. In addition, whilst there is no proven health risk associated with the lines, there is a common perception that there might be one.
These factors together can deter people from buying property near or under these lines.
In certain circumstances you could be compensated for the effect
these lines have on the value of your home.
To be eligible for this compensation, the following must apply:
1. The electricity lines and/or pylons have to be on or over your land.
2. The line must be held under a wayleave agreement with the electricity company. You may not be aware of any existing agreement however, we will determine this for you.
3. The electricity lines and/or pylons are close enough to your property to affect its value. We will assess the impact of this.
